Facilitating network, collaboration, and learning

With academic partnerships we will facilitate network, collaboration, and learning between universities and students across our member cities.

Academic partnerships allow students to form international relationships, develop a skill set needed to succeed in a global economy, and contribute to the energy needs of their home cities.

As beacons of research and training, universities help create future workers and generate innovative ideas that energy cities need to thrive. Connecting with universities around the world, especially with institutions associated with energy cities, gives both students and cities an edge in their future development.

The WECP facilitates the connection between member cities’ educational institutions, as well as between innovators and incubators. Partnerships could include the exchange of students and teachers, hybrid teaching, and research collaborations related to energy and energy production.
