Best Practices and Exchanges

The WECP facilitates the exchange of best practices between member cities.

Member City delegations exchange trends in energy city developments. Numerous WECP member cities already have well developed best practices and exchanges relationships, from Halifax with StavangerHouston with Perth, Aberdeen with Barranquilla, and Esbjerg with Ulsan.

Best practices and exchanges are about spreading ideas on planning, growth, and sustainability between cities. WECP delegations help facilitate these exchanges at the corporate, city, educational, and civic levels.

For several member cities, contact is maintained all year within several municipal subdivisions, such as Energy, Waste Management, or Business Development, helping develop the best practices for each city to thrive.

Building on a decision from the Annual General Meeting 2022, we are in the process of exploring how to best implement two new paths, which will add to the exchange and strengthen the ties between the member cities of the WECP: Strengthening the business-to-business corporation and explore academic partnerships.
