Wednesday was the first official day of the Annual General Meeting hosted by Esbjerg in Denmark. On this day, many of the delegates arrived in Esbjerg to take part in the three-day program.
The day began with a business-to-business matchmaking event organized by Energy Cluster Denmark. The event offered an opportunity to network and share business opportunities with companies from the entire energy industry.
In the afternoon, the Officers’ meeting took place, and 10 cities were represented in person in Esbjerg. Dammam, Halifax, Perth, Cape Town, Aberdeen, Scotland, Kobe, Houston, Calgary, and Esbjerg were joined virtually by Barranquilla, Dongying, and Daqing.
The participants in the meeting talked about what path The World Energy Cities Partnership should pursue in several respects, and many interesting points were brought up by the member cities. The meeting concluded with a short introduction to what the individual cities are currently working on in terms of the energy transition.
Afterward, Esbjerg Municipality hosted a networking reception, which was attended by delegates from the WECP, company representatives from the matchmaking session, and the delegation from Houston and Austin invited by the Danish Trade Council. Mayor Jesper Frost Rasmussen welcomed all and encouraged the guests to use the opportunity to network and meet some the local companies.
